Tanika Vaughn, a native of Denver, Colorado, grew up in Northeast Denver.
"I am passionate about educational equity for students of color. It is my aim to be instrumental in advancing educational equity and disrupting the disparities that hinder people of color from striving to achieve their full potential. I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in Spring of 2010 where I double majored in African American Studies and English. I began my Masters Degree program at the University of Denver, Morgridge College of Education in Fall 2010. I completed my Masters in Higher Education, Leadership and Organizational Change, Spring 2013. I currently work as a Program Specialist with the Center for Special Programs at the Community College of Denver."
Tanika Vaughn was highlighted by Wells Fargo and Denver Mayor Hancock when on Wednesday March 12, 2015, Tanika had the opportunity to speak on the behalf of Project Lift at a reception held by WellsFargo. She spoke about the project in regards to the success the program has assisting first time homebuyers through down payment assistance, closing cost, and homebuyers education classes in order to purchase their first home and be prepared to be a home owner. Tanika provided a short narrative about herself and then talked about how the program prepared her to be a first time home buyer and helped her to purchase her first home.
