Dr. Carolyn Love

Dr. Carolyn Love earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, and a Master of Arts from Regis University in Nonprofit Management. Most recently and most notably, Dr Love completed Antioch University’s PhD in Leadership and Change program by defending her dissertation titled “Generations Apart: A Mixed-Methods Study of Black Women’s Attitudes About Race and Social Justice”.
Based on her dissertation research, Dr. Love published an article in Gender Work and Organizations titled “An Exploration of the Intersection of Race, Gender, and Generation in African American Women Doing Social Justice Work.” She recently submitted an article for review by the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science.
Dr. Love is the Principal of Kebaya Coaching & Consulting, Inc., a leadership and organizational development company, which she founded in 2004. The company provides three interconnected services: leadership/executive coaching, leadership training, and organizational change consulting. Additionally, she is an affiliate faculty member at Regis University in the Master of Nonprofit Management program and is a facilitator for Colorado State University Extension’s Family Leadership Training Institute (FLTI).
Before starting her business, Dr Love served as the Executive Director of three uniquely different nonprofit organizations: The Denver Small Business Development Center, the Denver Metro Chamber Foundation, and the Rocky Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council. She successfully led several change initiatives which increased the performance of each of these organizations.
Dr Love is a graduate of Legacy Denver, Leadership Denver, Colorado Institute for Leadership Training, Denver Community Leadership Forum and the Minority Business Development Program at Dartmouth College. These training programs directly contributed to her refining her leadership expertise.
In addition, Dr Love serves on the boards of the American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado (ACLU), Colorado Nonprofit Association, Iliff school of Theology and National Council of Negro Women-Denver Section. In 2014, the Colorado Supreme Court appointed Dr Love to serve on the Character and Fitness Committee. Her other professional affiliations are the Associated Consultants International (ACI) and the International Leadership Association (ILA). She is a founding member of the Epsilon Xi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in Terre Haute, Indiana and is currently member of the Epsilon Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. of Denver, Colorado.
In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with her grandchildren.
